On December 21, the board of the Pennsylvania State Council of Farm Organizations (PSCFO) announced that it had contracted with Diane Bosak to be the Council’s new executive director. She replaces long-time PSCFO executive director Vince Phillips, who is retiring at the end of 2020.
“We are excited to have Ms. Bosak join the Council as our new executive director,” said PSCFO board president Gregg Robertson. “Her experience in association management and with workforce development issues will be an asset to the Council’s work. Workforce development is one of the key issues facing today’s modern farms and agricultural businesses.”
Before starting her consulting practice in workforce development and education, Ms. Bosak was vice president for workforce strategies and policy at Achieving the Dream, the nation’s largest community college reform network. She also served as deputy secretary for workforce development in Pennsylvania’s Department of Labor and industry and executive director of the Pennsylvania Commission for Community Colleges.
The Pennsylvania State Council of Farm Organizations has as its members Pennsylvania’s leading agricultural organizations, including the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau, the Pennsylvania State Grange, PennAg Industries, PASA Sustainable Agriculture and over sixty other agriculture-related organizations and businesses. Its purpose is to serve as a forum for identifying issues important to the agricultural community as a whole and raising awareness of these issues among the public, and state and federal government.
